We acknowledge with respect the Inuit of Nunatsiavut (new-NUT-see-uh-vewt), Innu of Nitassinan (ne-TASS-eh-nen), and the Inuit of NunatuKavut (nu-nah-TUHK-ah-vut) as the original protectors & stewards of the land of which we now call Labrador. <aside> 👋 Welcome to the NL chapter of Amnesty International! We're a community passionate about advancing human rights awareness & protections across the province. Amnesty has not been active within NL for many years and, as part of the Atlantic Revitalization plan, we’re hoping to change that! This Amnesty group is primarily located in St. John’s, but we encourage others from around the province to get involved, and learn more about Amnesty & the work we do. We recognize that our perspective is limited in scope and we cannot adequately address all of the diverse human rights needs in Newfoundland & Labrador. We actively encourage the creation of school clubs and individual community groups, and we invite those interested in getting further involved with us to reach out.
